Why should I get dentures?
Our dentists may recommend dentures or partial dentures for your smile if you have lost multiple teeth due to advanced periodontitis, serious decay, trauma, or other factors. We offer solutions for patients who suffer from partial or total edentulism.
Full dentures are used when all of the teeth in the full arch have been lost or removed, and they can be used for the lower (mandibular), upper (maxillary), or both arches. A partial denture may be recommended if you have lost several teeth, but some natural teeth still remain. The partial denture is held in place through the use of a thin framework or clasps that attach to the neighbouring teeth. These dentures are removable, allowing you to remove them for easy cleaning.
We also offer implant-supported dentures in our Sunshine dental clinics. Sometimes referred to as over-dentures, hybrid dentures, or hybrid bridges this type of denture is anchored to dental implants that are inserted in the jawbone. This provides a more secure restoration. Many patients also report that implant-supported dentures feel more like their natural teeth. If you would like to learn more about complete dentures, partial dentures, or implant-supported dentures, we invite you to see Dr. Patricia, our wonderful prosthetist who specializes in dentures.
